There's a saying that goes 'It's not what you wear but how you wear it that counts' and nothing could be truer of a humble pair of jeans. Although they might be the ultimate in casual wear, just a simple tweak can turn them into a smart fashion statement. For an instant update to a tired pair of denims, simply take a long silk scarf and feed it through the belt loops. You can either start and finish at the two front loops or off-center at the hip. Whichever is your preference, you can finish by tying or looping the ends of the scarf, continuing to feed them through the loops so that they are tucked out of sight, or simply leaving the extra fabric to hand freely. Another simple trick for adding glam appeal to jeans is simply to tie a short scarf around one of the belt loops and let the ends fall naturally.

Even if you are quite happy to wear jeans, leggings or casual skirts as they are, silk scarves and shawls can still be used to glam up your overall look in more traditional ways. A stunning hand painted scarf which is tied, looped or even just hung around the neck will draw attention away from tired denims and make for a much more classic look. A hand dyed shawl, meanwhile, will add instant elegance to just about any casual outfit.

After choosing a brown tux, you must also select a few well coordinated accessories. An easy way to dress up a tuxedo is with a vest and tie. When choosing colors, think similar but different. Your vest should be a lighter shade of brown. Be sure not to go to light! Not only will you need to coordinate your tie with your jacket, but also with your shirt and vest. Many striped ties come in shades of brown. These ties are both good looking and versatile. If you really want to stand out, you can go with a pink or ivory tie.
